Basic Web Page Instructions Below; if you want more, check out Mr. Healy's Page: http://web.suffieldacademy.org/tutorial/
Here's a chronological list of some of the things that Mr. Speyer has taught
our class:
- Find, open, and save material directly to the sites folder in your server account. Day students
can work on a file at home but must do the "save" function here
on campus. NB: always move the arrow back to ensure that you are saving directly
onto your "Sites" folder in your tigernet account.
- Because we have an images folder in our tigernet "sites" folder,
we can save images from the web, scanned, etc, to this location. We can then
go to the location on our Dreamweaver page and use the Insert menu option
and insert the image.
- When you navigate around Dreamweaver, be sure that your properties table
is operating at the bottom of your document. If not, go to the window menu
and find "properties."
- Go to Commands to set the background color.
- For creating a table, go to Insert menu and highlight table. Then a box
with row and column options will appear. Fill the numbers you need. If you
make a mistake, go to edit and click on the undo option.
- For creating a link, highlight the desired text that you want to become
a live link (this is called hypertext); then either type in the folder and
file location exactly or copy and paste the internet URL address in the link
box at the bottom properties box.
- For creating anchors, you will find the option in the Insert menu; then
find and highlight "Named Anchor." Follow the same logic as you
did when you created a link.
