This book, The Magic of Thinking Big, it is a business book, it tells you how to be a successful man, and how to have an ideal job satisfying our own life. This book’s author, David J. Schwartz, he is a successful guy, because all the stories and adventures that he mentioned, it was not just by thinking. Schwartz actually faced all the issues, and learned all the secrets of success. He is just sharing the journey of his achievements to the readers who really want to be successful.
There are many main points that Schwartz mentioned and gave examples to, one of them is “Believe you can succeed and you will”, he told us “Think success, don’t think failure”, because thinking of success, will cause our mind to create plans that produce success. But thinking failure will do totally opposite. Schwartz also told us that “Remind yourself regularly that you are better than you think you are. Successful people are not supermen, it does not require a super-intellect, and success isn’t based on luck. Successful people are just ordinary folks who have developed belief in themselves and what they do. Never—yes, never—sell yourself short.”
“Build confidence and destroy fear”, he told us five procedures to destroy fear. First one, “Action cures fear”, to minimize the fears, and then take actions to it, until it is gone. Second, “Make a supreme effort to put only positive thoughts in your memory bank”, we will think positive, don’t let the negative thoughts turn out to be a devil following us. Third, “Put people in proper perspective”, he told us that just think another human being. “Many people will bark, but it’s rare one that bites” Schwartz said.
Forth, “Practice doing what your conscience tells you is right.” This point will prevent guilt from developing. At last, Fifth, “When doing everything, say, ‘I’m confident, really confident.’ “ This point, he told us to “Be a front seater”, “Make Eye Contact”, “Walk 25 percent faster”, “Speak up”, and “Smile big”, and these techniques will help us to be confident.
The author told us four ways on how to think big. Use big, positive, cheerful words and phrases to describe how you feel. Use bright, cheerful, favorable words and phrases to describe other people. Use positive language to encourage others. Use positive words to outline plans to others. Schwartz always gave us ways on how to improve and how to be a successful person. For each ways, he would give us examples to help us understanding how it will work. In this point, he told us a lot of his own experiences and how he wants us to be sure what to do when readers experience those problems.
All of the stories and experiences that he shared with us, it was all based on his own life. And all of the experiences, he had faced, and had trouble with, so he wrote this book, to help readers know more about business, and how to live successfully. The author, Schwartz presents a very detailed program for getting the best job, family life and our community. He proved to us that, to be a successful person, you don’t have to be the smartest, and the highest IQ.

This book had made me feel totally different than before, because the author, Mitch, has actually experienced the case. It is based on true story about him. This book begins with him being a high school student, and Morrie got a decease that can't be cure at the time. So, Morrie is waiting until the last day of his life. my favorite part of this book is how Mitch treats Morrie as a true friend. morrie teaches Mitch life lessons. he also teaches Mitch that although he knows that he is going to die, and he is getting weaker everyday, he will not give up his life, and waste the time that he has left.
Friendship is m most favorite part of this book, because no only peers can be friends, but teachers and students can be friends as well. Mitch takes every advice that is said by Morrie; he respects him and loves him. WHile I was reading it, I was touched by what Mitch has done, because he cares about Morrie. he doesn't want Morrie to leave him, so Mitch decided to record things that he had said.
On Mitch's senior year, Morrie just had the decease, and because of that, Morrie started to care and listen to him more. On the graduation day of Mitch, Morrie told his parents how he attended all of his classes, and he is a good student. Because Morrie is Mitch's favorite professor, Mitch have him a present, hugged him and said goodbye to him. When Morrie turns back, he was crying. Mitch promised Morrie that they will keep in touch, but for a long time, he is working so hard that he forgets about the commitment. One day, Mitch recognizes Morrie's voice through radio, so he quickly drives to his house, and see how he is doing. He is too nervous that he doesn't want to leave his car. After they met, they talked, and hugged each other, after they started talking, Mitch feels like he went back to high school, because his love t Morrie is totally back. After that day, they met every Tuesday, and Morrie keeps teaching him life lessons. he told him that the decease had gone much worse; he can't walk, and he only has enough energy to hold a cup with water with his hands. Whenever he talks, because he knows that his hands will not be able to move like his legs, so he is trying to move as much as possible. Mitch cares about his work and of course he cares Morrie the most. Even though, he knows Morrie's assistance will cook a great amount of food on tuesdays. Mitch still buys chicken and other food for morrie, because he feels bad when he just go to his house and eat without doing anything.
After Morrie's death, he decided to write a book about his life, and what Mitch has experienced with Morrie in his life. So this book, Tuesdays with Morrie, is the book that author, Mitch Albom, wrote about his favorite and beloved professor/friend.
