Modernism
1. experimenting with a new literary form;

This picture is a good example of experimenting with a new literary form because it is something differnt and unusual. It makes the reader a little uncomfortable because it is something that is not ususal to the american society. The language that it is written in is different and the way the words are placed is not usual. It is different and modern.
2. presenting the thoughts of a character in a nonlinear fashion;

This picture shows a nonlinear form of modernism. It has a lot of commotion and different shapes that makes it out of the prdianry. IT is not neat and orderly, but rather unorganized and confusing. It gives the person who is looking at it the question of "what does this mean?". It is presenting thoughts through a nonlinear fashion.
3.reader must decode fragmentary content (as well as experimental content);

Here is a picture of a tool that someone would use to decode a word. This picture tells me about this type of modernism because of how it is decoding. With new, modern poems, there is sometimes more to uinderstand and decode then other poems. This tool reminds me of something that would help me do that.
4. fragmentary content; there is no whole;

In this picture, not everything is there. It feeels like there is something missing, like there is another peice to the puzzle. This picture shows this element of modernism because of how it does that. Sometimes there will not be a whole picture, just fragments, and you have to find the emaning from that.
5. reader's must participate: add emotion and draw their own conclusions;

This picture illuminates this element of modernism because of how it shows participation and emotion. when reading a poem, one has to give his or her own meaning to the poem. The poem has to be put into his or her own words and has to have emotion be put into the meaning.
6. artist intentionally present puzzling features because the mystery itself is the message;

In modern poems, the poet will try to puzzle you with his or her words. This picture gives us an idea of what it can be like. When a poem is puzzling, it becomes more interesting and entices the reader. The more puzzling a poem is, the mroe meaning it can have.
7. art echoes and portrays a sense of lonliness and alienation;

Some art gives us a sad and uncomfortable feeling. This picture is a good example of this element of modernism because of how lonely it is. WQhen reading some modern poems, you can feel scared and sad after reading them. This picture shows us how this is true.
8.art represents and questions the declining belief in a higher power.

Poems and pictures alike can have deep meaning. Sometimes the meaning is of a beleife of the poet or artsist. This picture shows this element of modernism because of how it brings down the reality of a higher power. Some people do not beleive in gods, and this is on way that shows that.
